Decades ago, the oil palm industry began as a national mission to combat poverty- a promise captured in the words “Land for the Landless, Job for the Jobless”, through FELDA initiatives.
Thousands of Malaysians were given the opportunity to rebuild their lives, transforming once barren lands into thriving plantations, and turning hope into livelihood.
Today, that legacy continues. More than 450,000 smallholder families depend on the oil palm industry, families whose hard work not only sustains their communities but also contributes to the nation’s growth.
On this International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, MPOB stands proud to uphold this mission by empowering smallholders, driving rural development, and ensuring that no one is left behind. That’s our promise!
