Migratory birds rely on a network of ’rest stops’ across their global routes and Malaysia’s sustainably managed oil palm landscapes can play a meaningful role in that journey.
By preserving small patches of natural habitat, protecting wetland areas, and maintaining native tree corridors, our oil palm plantations become more than economic assets, they become part of a living ecosystem that supports global biodiversity.
So today, as we celebrate the day, look up at the sky, you might just see one of these travellers gliding gracefully above.
Let’s welcome them to our land, and be proud that Malaysia is part of their incredible journey across the world.
